Medical Acupuncture

What is Medical Acupuncture –

Medical Acupuncture is the placement of needles in areas of the body using up to date knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Medical acupuncture is an adaptation of Chinese acupuncture without conforming to the notion of ying and yang.

How it works / What is it used for?

Medical acupuncture uses the body’s physiology to help promote the healing process and reduce pain of an area. By placing needles into the body this brings blood and inflammation to the specific area which carry proteins and much more to help the area to speed up recovery. Whilst this is ongoing because the needle has been inserted your body releases endorphins (internal painkiller) into the system to help reduce the pain. This allows muscles to decreases in pain and relax. Evidence suggests that it is most useful for neck, shoulder and back pain but can be used all over the body.
